Fax: 202/927/8688 The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) has
a need to examine firearms and toolmark evidence by use of forensic
comparison microscopy. Evidence is in the form of fired bullets, fired
cartridge cases and toolmark impressions, using paired bullet
manipulators and vertical shell holders mounted on mechanical stages
with fluorescent illumination. The microscope requires a
counter-balanced focusing pillar, comparison bridge with moveable
dividing line, 1X through 4x magnification and 10X eyepieces.
Photographic capability: CCD camera, video printer, color video
monitor. A motorized, adjustable table for mounting the equipment and
an adjustable stool is required for each microscope. This equipment
must be compatible with existing microscope equipment, i.e., the Lecia
Universal Forensic model K2700 comparison microscope, currently being
used by three ATF Laboratories, in order to guarantee standardized
results. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to Rockville, MD 20850.
Awardee must complete a SF-3381 ACH Vendor Miscellaneous Payment
Enrollment form, for payment via electronic funds transfer. All
