A -- MINE WARFARE ASSOCIATION POC Patricia Davis, 703-325-1713 It is the intent of the CECOM Acquisition Center to issue Request for Quote to the Mine Warfare Association for support of efforts that pertain to the development of international protocols that seek to control the spread and proliferation of mines and mine technologies to nations, factions and agencies who are indiscriminate and irresponsible in the use of mines and related weapons. The quote will require the Association to make available a mature database that includes all Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) involved in mine warfare and demining -- this information is crucial for furthering international cooperative demining efforts and does not exist anywhere else. Additionally, the Association will provide substantive support in the execution of a fall meeting of the Mine Warfare Association 13-14 November 1997 in the DC area and the Third Symposium on Technology and the Mine Problem at Monterey 5-9 April 1998 -- these forum represent a broad community devoted to "demining" efforts: Marines, Navy, Army, Air Force, Government, Industry, Academe, Laboratories, and International partners. Finally the Associations will secure a platinum membership for the NVSED Demining Office.
