20TH DISTRICT CALIFORNIA CONGRESSMAN CALVIN DOOLEY FEDERAL PROCUREMENT CONFERENCE AND TRADE EXPO 20th DISTRICT CALIFORNIA CONGRESSMAN CALVIN DOOLEY FEDERAL PROCUREMENT CONFERENCE AND TRADE EXPO -- On 12 September 1997, Congressman Calvin Dooley in cooperation with the Hanford, Lemoore, and Corcoran Chambers of Commerce will sponsor a federal procurement conference at the Lemoore Naval Air Station (NAS), Lemoore CA. Registration will begin at 7:30 A.M. in the court yard, adjacent to the station theater. In addition to Congressman Dooley, distinguished speakers include Captain Dick Ginman, Deputy for Acquisition and Business Management for the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development and Acquisition), Mrs. Kathleen Green, NASL Credit Card Agency Program Coordinator, Mr. John Watkins (Small Purchase Electronics Data Interchange), Mr. Randy Mason (Small Business Administration), Ms. Jane McGinnis (Procurement Technical Assistance Center), Representative of the Electronic Commerce Resource Center. Emphasis will be on Electronic Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange (EC/EDI) and breakinginto the government market, specifically with the Department of Defense. Numerous prime contractors will also be in attendance. Other topics that will be discussed during this conference are: Service, Construction and Environmental Contracting; Doing Business with State Buying Activities; Business Issues (marketing plans, accounting, computers, etc.); Value Added Networks (VANS); and Specialized Procurement Issues just to name a few.
