70 -- NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE WITH DEMAND TECHNOLOGIES, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF NEW TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM MANAGEMENT FACILITY (NTSMF) SOFTWARE. DUE 091997 POC Monica M. Yankle Tel: 410-965-9591 The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with Demand Technologies, Inc. (DMI), 1020 Eighth Avenue South,Suite 6, Naples, Florida 34102 for the purchase of New Technology System Management Facility (NTSMF) software and the support and maintenance associated with this software. DMI is the only manufacturer identified by SSA that is able to provide a software product which will meet the Agency's minimum functional requirements for the collection of resource utilization data and performance measurement data from a total of approximately 65,000 NT servers and workstations being deployed nationally on the NT operating system platform. This software is fully developed, supported, and commercially available as of the date of this announcement. It fulfills the following process requirements: (1) is easily installed on workstations and servers manually and via the NT SMS distribution facilities; (2) supports the collection of specific NT performance counters; (3) facilitates the collection of the counters at user-defined intervals; (4) facilitates the collection of data over user-defined periods; (5) facilitates the automatic initiation and termination of the collection process based on user-defined parameters; (6) supports the modification and maintenance of user-defined collection sets from a centralized location out to the remotely located servers and workstations; (7) writes the data collected at each server and workstation to a file on that workstation or server in an ASCII comma delimited format which can be processed using SAS software; (8) output file data includes the type and content of the counter data and all other data required to identify and process the counter data; (9) provides full documentation covering all aspects of the product use, collection set development, modification and maintenance and output file contents; and (10) requires minimal consumption of server and workstation resources.
