Chavis, gchavis@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and
Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering
Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, requires
engineering system technical services (STS) to support the production
of the M919 Armor Piercing, Fin Stabilized, Discarding Sabot with
Tracer (APFSDS-T) 25mm Cartridge. The engineering technical services
required include process and product improvement analysis, failure
analysis, manufacture and ballistic testing. A thorough knowledge of
all the detailed intricacies of the current M919 design, manufacture
and function is also required. The M919 uses a low-level radioactive
penetrator (Depleted Uranium) and is manufactured in accordance with a
top-level drawing and performance specification, unique to a PRiMEX
Technologies, Inc., M919 design. The proposed contract action will be
a modification to TACOM-ARDEC contract DAAE30-95-C-0070, currently
awarded to PRiMEX Technologies, Inc., Marion, IL. All interested
sources (for subcontracting opportunities or otherwise) must possess a
valid license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). See Note
