D -- SCSI EXTENDERS/MAINTENANCE SOL DCA200-98-Q-0024 DUE 051597 POC Darlene Cutler (618)256-9697 The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO), Computer Technology Division, Procurement Branch (DTS42) intends to issue a sole source contract to General Signal Networks, 5418 Olympia Fields, Houston TX 77069, for the acquisition of SCSI Cable Extenders (Qty: 15). The converters/extenders must meet or exceed the following characteristics: (a) Must be capable of extending the SCSI bus 200 feet with no sacrifice in throughput; (b) Must connect the following UNIX systems (HP T600, HP T 520, HP T500, HP K410, HP 715/100, SUN 3000E, SUN 5000E, SUN ULTRA 140, AXIL 320, DEC 2100, IBM RS6000/J40, AND SGI CHALLENGE)to an EMC Symmetric Integrated Cached Disk Array (ICDA), and maintain specified data transfer rates; (c) Convert single-ended SCSI to Differential for all single-ended connections. (d) Maintenance: At a minimum, all equipment must be able to operate and be supported by the vendor in the following: Provide 12 months warranty on all equipment provided. There is a four (4) hour maximum response time for the contractor to be on-site responding to an equpment failure with all personnel necessary to effect the repair. Additionally, the repair or replacement must be instituted within 48 hours. Maintenance required is 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week (24 x 7). Vendor must supply any and all additional components such as SCSI cable, power cables, connectors, converters, cabinets, etc. necessary to provide fully functional connections between the UNIX systems and DASD located at the Defense Information Systems Agency Continuity of Operations and Test Facility (DCTF), Slidell, LA. The period of performance is 1 Oct 97 through 30 Sep 98.. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 USC 2304 (c)(1), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Companies who can provide the above listed equipment/service must indicate their interest within 5 days of this announcement. Any party interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation shall provide written notice to the Contracting Office. Datafax requests to 618-256-9414 are acceptable. No contract award will be made on the basis of quotations/proposals received in response to this notice, since this synopsis cannot be considered a Request for Quotations/Proposals.
