Hawkins, Chief, Procurement Section, (301)435-0366 The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) issues this notice of intent synopsis to conduct negotiations on a noncompetitive basis with the American Psychiatric Association (APA)[a non-profit agency], 1400 K street N.W., Washington, D.C. 20005, to conduct analyses of the American Psychiatric Associations' Practice Research Network data bases. The analysis shall evaluate the extent to which the current system represents any existing data on the patien ts and their treatments and to refine the design of the Practice Research Network to provide more information on the psychiatrists treating individuals who have a drug use disorder as a primary or comorbid diagnosis and on the specific treatments these patients receive. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Interested parties may identify thei r interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. This requirement is under the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code number 7371, size standard $7.0 million. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
