PROPOSAL FOR THE OFFICIAL STATUS OF THE REVISED STANDARD. The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.416. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: ISRAEL. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Industry and Trade of the State of Israel. Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 5.6.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Electric cables, power, HS 85.44, ICS 29.060.20. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Revision of Official Israeli Standard SI 1516 "Extruded Solid Dielectric Power Cables for Rated Voltages 1 kV up to 30 kV", equivalent to IEC 502, (9 pages in Hebrew). Proposal for the Official Status of the Revised Standard (1 page in Hebrew). 6. Description of content: Revision of SI 1516 issued by the Standards Institution of Israel -- Construction, dimensions, test methods. SI 1516 has been Official under previous Notice of the Minister of Industry and Trade published in the Official Gazette, Section of Government Notices, #4323, August 1995. The revised Standard is proposed to be official. 7. Objective and rationale: Safety. 8. Relevant documents: The Notice will be published in the Official Gazette, Section of Government Notices, when adopted. 9.
