COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 16,1997 PSA#1931SPACELIFT RANGE SYSTEM (SLRS) ACQUISITION STRATEGY INTERCHANGE BRIEFING
The Satellite & Launch Control Systems Program Office (SMC/CW) of the
Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Material Command
will hold the first Spacelift Range System (SLRS) Sustainment
Acquisition Strategy Interchange Industry Day, on Friday, 26 September
1997, from 0800-11:00 (PDT). The meeting will be held in the Aerospace
Corporation, building A-1, 2350 E. El Segundo Blvd, El Segundo, CA
90245, Room 1062. This initial industry session is open to all those
interested parties that respond to this CBD announcement and confirm
reservations with the point of contact below. At this first Industry
Day, the Air Force will ONLY present the current SLRS program status
and our future requirements. The second stage of this process, as
specified below, will entail the Air Force establishing appointments
with individual prospective prime contractors to dialogue separately
with the SMC/CW acquisition strategy team on your ideas and concepts
for the future SLRS sustainment acquisition strategy. The one-on-one
sessions will take place approximately two weeks following the Industry
Day. With the help of industry's inputs, the Air Force will establish
a formal sustainment acquisition strategy. During these one-on-one
sessions, you should take into account the current program status as a
departure point for your concepts/ideas. At the conclusion of the Air
Force presentation, potential prime contractors will be offered an
opportunity to schedule a maximum two-hour appointment with the SLRS
acquisition strategy team to fully discuss your proposed SLRS
sustainment acquisition strategy ideas and recommendations. You will be
either notified on 26 September of the date, time slots and place of
the subsequent meetings or by subsequent contact from the cognizant
Contracting Officer below. Attendance is limited to 2-3 participants
from each organization. Participants are requested to provide the names
of the attendees; Social Security Number, and citizenship by 19 Sep 97.
Each individual attendeeis responsible for their travel and
accommodations. The classification for the briefing is "UNCLASSIFIED."
All interested parties must respond to this notice in writing,
including prior respondents to our first CBD notice. The Air Force does
not intend to award a contract on the basis of information submitted or
presented at the one-on-one proposed SLRS acquisition strategy meetings
solicited through this announcement. Nor does the government intend to
pay for any information submitted or presented at the one-on-one
session or solicited through this announcement. For additional
