66 -- SOIL MOISTURE MONITORING SYSTEM SOL 29-3K47-97 DUE 092297 POC Janice Speth, 301/504-6071 This is a modification to a combined synopsis/solicitation for a Soil Moisture Monitoring System, a commercial item, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6. Amendment 01 is issued for the following reasons: 1. Change one (1) system to two (2) soil moisture monitoring systems . Double the quantity of each line item; 2. Change the minimum requirement 11 to read: "To be field-serviceable after initial installation with minimal or no soil distrubance, and can accommodate cable lengths over 200m and still meet the minimal data requirements; 3. Add Line item 15 Software to operate the system; 4. Delete Line item 14 Spare parts; 5. Change the acquisition from Small business set-aside to Unrestricted; 6. Extend the closing date from 9/15/97 to 9/22/97, 3:00 p.m. EST; and 7. Change the delivery timeframe from 45 to 35 calendar days from the award date (approximately Nov. 5, 1997). (0255)
