Dvoracek II (210)221-9365 (Site Code DADA10) The U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), Medical Supplies and Services Contracting Branch, intends to procure on a sole source basis the following subscription renewals for CD-ROM database and Internet Web access during the period October 1, 1997 through September 30, 1998 under the authority of FAR 6.302 in order to provide the MEDCOM libraries with access to consumer health/patient education, nursing and allied health, and medical information. It is updated monthly and provides cover-to-cover indexing to over 150 health and medical titles with full-text coverage of over 100 titles. Article references are integrated with the full text of over 500 medical pamphlets, plus the full text of five leading consumer health reference books. The government requires 9 each subscriptions of Health Reference Center (HRC) World Wide Web and 16 each subscriptions of HRC Academic World Wide Web manufactured and provided by Information Access Company (IAC), Inc., 362 Lakeside Drive, Foster City, CA 94494. The Government requires that products be completely networkable and compatible with the existing Government environment. Award is to be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Delivery is to be made to Medical Command Library Program Office, MEDCOM Clinical Operations (MCHO CL R), Building 2792, Room 103, Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received by the quote due date will be considered by the Government. All responsible sources shall provide the company name, address, telephone number, point of contact, size of business, substantial literature to include manufacturer's specifications, catalogs, price lists, and descriptive literature containing sufficient technical information which establishes bonafide technical capability to fulfill the stated requirement, and three references whereby you have provided similar products and/or services. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete the award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
