Subject solicitation is amended as specified herein. 1. Under Description, Section I, Paragraph B1, is amended to read as follows: "Two, special purpose, cargo pockets shall be provided on the front of the BP garment. These pockets shall provide carrying capability for additional ammunition, auxiliary items, and other functions as may be appropriate. The pockets shall have sufficient strength to support heavy items under the stresses of running and remain attached." 2. The following questions received in response to the Synopsis/Solicitation and government responses are provided: 2.1. Question: The due date is noted in the solicitation as September 17, 1997, but the last sentence indicates a due date of September 22, 1997. Which date is correct? Answer: The correct due date should be Monday, September 22, 1997. 2.2. Question: Is there a requirement that the material used in the outer shell be fire proof? Answer: No. 2.3. Question: Can synthetic fabrics be used? Answer: Yes. 2.4. Will partial delivery with appropriate progress payments be allowed? Answer: No. 2.5. Question: The solicitation states that "the front pieces shall overlap the back pieces at the sides such that the BP material overlap shall be adjustable by up to two inches." Is it acceptable if the back overlaps the front by up to two inches? Answer: Yes. 2.6. Question: What size ballistic plates are required? 8" x 10" or 10" x 12"? Answer: As stated in the Solicitation/Synopsis: "Each plate must fit into both large and extra large BP garments and be of a size to cover the vital organs (heart, lungs, and liver)." Multiple offers will be considered. Each offer will be considered separately and, therefore, should stand on its own and be identifiable as a separate and complete offer. (0255)
