schwierk@pica.army.mil. To provide technical and support services for
Mines, Countermine and Demolition (PM-MCD) on the Hand-Emplaced Wide
Area Munition (HE-WAM). The contractor's expertise will be utilized to
advise and assist in the evaluation of the current state of acoustic
seismic or magnetic sensors, and other sensor and computer algorithms
which may be applicable to detect, track, and classify light and heavy
tracked and wheeled targets, which are either commercially available
or exist in the military inventory, and which can be used to satisfy
WAM's requirements. The contractor must search for acoustic and seismic
sensors that are small in size, lightweight and fit within the WAM's
envelope. Results of the evaluation shall be provided PM-MCD in a
report, or through participation in the IPT. The contractor shall
provide expert technical input which will deal with the more advanced
sensors integrated concept, and tasked to solve present WAM's problems.
The government intends to award a sole source contract to Universityof
