Precision Strike System Program Office (WMG), Contracting Directorate
(WMGK), Aeronautical System Center (ASC), Air Force Material Command
(AFMC), Eglin AFB FL plans an acquisition of approximately 5,000
DSU-33B/B proximity sensor units (P/N TBD) for the Navy inventory. The
DSU-33B/B proximity sensor acquisition was previously synopsized as a
Sources Sought Synopsis on 20 June 1997. This synopsis is to inform
all potential offerors that a Draft Request For Proposal (DRFP) will be
available for review and comment on or after 26 September 1997. Parties
interested in providing feedback or comments will be given 30 days to
respond after release of the DRFP. Requests for the DRFP should be
addressed to ASC/WMGK, Bldg 11, 102 West D Avenue, Ste 300, Eglin AFB
FL, Attn: Stacey Darhower. Respondents must state if they are a small
business concern IAW FAR 52.219-1 (SIC Code/Size Standard is 3489/500
employees.) Responding firms must have a secret level security
clearance and be export controlled certified, IAW DoD 5230.25. Export
control certification may be obtained through the Defense Logistics
Services Center, Battle Creek, MI 49016-3412, telephone number
1-800-352-3572. A Technical Library containing DSU-33 information is

for further information. An Industry Day is tentatively scheduled for
the week of November 3rd. Interested parties should look for a
separate CBD synopsis announcing the specifics of this Industry Day. An
Ombudsman has been established for this acquisition. The only purpose
of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from
potential offerors when an offeror prefers not to use established
channels to communicate his/her concern during the proposal development
phase of this acquisition. Potential offerors should use established
channels to request information, pose questions, and voice concerns
before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.Potential offerors are invited
