The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to award a contract for Low Energy Exploding Foil Initiators (LEEFI), 3000 each, to Reynolds Systems, Inc., P.O. Box 1229, Middletown, CA 95461-1229. The LEEFI's will be delivered in two (2) lots with Lot 1 consisting of a quantity of 1,250 units and Lot 2 of 1,750 units. They will be manufactured to the specifications contained in Silicon Designs, Inc. (SDI) drawing number 1-130-00002, part number 1-130-00002-02, LEEFI, Hermetic, LCC-20/Mod 12 with explosive, NAWC-002 Chip, Serialized. Reynolds Systems, Inc. (RSI) is the only company qualified by Sandia National Laboratory to press the explosive HNS-IV; this fact precludes consideration of another manufacturer. See CBD Note 22. (0259)
