The vertical turning center shall be new (not a prototype) and one of the manufacturer's current production models. Its design shall include features and components necessary for maintaining alignment and accomplish turning, drilling, tapping, milling, boring and grinding perfor mances. The machine shall be a single rail head type with horizontal and vertical tool motions. The machine shall be equipped with an automatic tool changer and an ID/OD grinding attachment. The machine shall be equipped with rotary tooling (live tooling) for milling, drilling, and boring. The machine may contain reclaimed materials to the maximum extent possible provided such materials will not jeopardize the intended use, performance or life of the machine. All computerized, electrical, mechani cal, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls shall be located near the operator's work stations. This is a Best Value acquisition and past performance will be evaluated. System will be installed at Anniston Army Depot, Anniston AL 36201-4199 within 365 days after contract award.
