Smith, 706-731-7174 Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to assemble, deliver, pick up, clean, repair and store durable medical equipment (DME) to include, but not limited to, hospital beds with mattress and side rails (manual and electric), trapeze assemblies, patient lifts, wheelchairs, bathroom safety equipment, overbed tables, recliner chairs and portable ramps, for eligible beneficiaries of Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers located in Augusta, Decatur and Dublin, Georgia; Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina; and Birmingham, Montgomery,Tuscaloosa and Tuskegee, Alabama. The successful bidder(s) must be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and comply with all standards in the most current volume of the Accreditation Manual for Home Care. Applicable Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 7699. Solicitation will be issued for base year (January 1, 1998 through December 31, 1998) with four (4) one (1) year options to extend. The Government anticipates making multiple awards from this solicitation. Anticipated issue date is on or about October 1, 1997. The date for receipt of bids is on or about October 30, 1997.
