The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Plant Protection and Quarantine, Medfly Project, in Tampa, FL has a need for air shipment of sterile medfly pupae from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Tampa, FL. There will be up to approximately 1,600 lbs per day for a period beginning on October 15, 1997 and going through December 31, 1997. This contract will be awarded with at least one option period to cover January 1, 1998 through September 30, 1998. This contract will be awarded on a price per pound basis with total pounds to be shipped estimated at 124,800 during the October 15 through December 31, 1997 time frame. The sterile medfly pupae are to be in a temperature controlled, pressurized compartment of the airplane. This is a solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The copy of the Solicitation # RFP 22-M-APHIS-98 is to be released on or about September 26, 1997.
