Postal Service will be implementing a corporate wide data warehouse. 2.
At this time the Postal Service will be pre-qualifing potential
suppliers who possess the skills needed to design and implement a
corporate data warehouse architecture and a National Retail Data Mart.
3. The National Retail Data Mart will be the first of several data
marts that will become components of a corporate wide data warehouse.
4. This pre-qualification package includes a brief description of the
purpose of the Data Warehouse and National Retail Data Mart, the
criteria that the Postal Service will use to evaluate potential
suppliers, and instructions on how to prepare pre-qualification
responses. 5. At a minimum, potential suppliers must meet the following
criteria to be eligible for the request for proposal. 6. Significant
experience as a systems integrator with large-scale data warehouse and
data mart implementation. 7.Qualified suppliers must have implemented
either 1) a datawarehouse or 2) a data warehouse with multiple data
marts (for a commercial or government client) that is at least one
terabyte in size. 8. In addition, the potential supplier must have also
implemented two data warehouses that are at least 500 gigabytes in
size. 9. The above data warehouses must consist of a wide variety of
sources and types of data. 10. Dedicated data warehouse and data mart
staffz: 11. The supplier must have a full-time team whose main
responsibility is implementing data warehouses and data marts. 12. The
team members must have the training, experience, and skills to
implement a large, centralized, enterprise data warehouse that supports
multiple data marts. 13. The team must provide a full range of
services, such as training, data modeling, data administration, and
data transformation and cleansing. 14. Stable corporate profile: 15.
The supplier must have substantial experience in integrating
information systems and implementing data warehouses, data marts,and
other information technology projects. 16. It must demonstrate
sufficient financial resources and long-term commitment to implementing
and maintaining large, centralized, enterprise data warehouses that
support multiple data marts. 17. Merely meeting the minimum criteria
stated above does not guarantee that the potential supplier will be
