J. Sylvain, Contracting Officer, (973) 724-3965 WEB: US ARMY
TACOM-ARDEC Procurement Network,
http://procnet.pica.army.mil/procacts.htm. E-MAIL: Allan Heller,
aheller@pica.army.mil. U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to evaluate Long
Standoff Warheads that might be developed to become potential insertion
candidates for "hit-to-kill" anti-armor missiles. This will be
accomplished by procuring and testing six to eight (6-8) warheads at
very long standoffs. Interested contractors will submit designs of
their warheads, and warhead test data at long standoffs, for
evaluation. The selected warheads will be built in accordance with
submitted designs. Research and development efforts will not be
considered. The warheads should have an outside diameter of up to
175mm. In addition to the normal packaging constraints, i.e. diameter,
length, and weight, the Government may specify that the warheads be
filled with the explosive LX-14-0 or an HMX based equivalent. The body
material should be aluminum with a minimum thickness of 0.13cm
(1.30mm). The Government will favor candidates that do not contain
materials (other than explosives) that present environmental, safety or
health problems. In order to receive a copy of the RFP, a SECRET
Facility Clearance is required. (0261) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0122 19970922\13-0004.SOL)
