99 -- GASEOUS OXYGEN-NITROGEN PRODUCTION SYSTEM SOL N65540-97-S-0001 DUE 102097 POC Miguel Bosch, Code 9212, (215) 897-7228. This is a solicitation market survey to obtain commercial information relative to gaseous oxygen-nitrogen generation systems. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia, PA and Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, DC are conducting market research ONLY. NO AWARD will be made as a result of this synopsis nor is any solicitation material available. Information requested includes the commercial availability of a system capable of (1) automatically producing 100-200 lbs/hr of gaseous oxygen or nitrogen, at 99.5 percent purity, meeting the contaminant level specified in MIL-O-27210, Type I and BB-N-411, respectively; (2) Dimensions: not to exceed 90 inches high by 147 inches wide by 96 inches deep; (3) Weight: 15,000 pounds; (4) Noise: Not to exceed 80 DB: (5) Shock: meeting MIL-S-901; (6) Electromagnetic emission requirements of MIL-STD-461; (7) Mean time between failure: not less than 1500 hr. The gaseous generating system is to operate automatically, efficiently and reliably in an aircraft carrier environment. The air supply to the generating plant can be either via a 1750 SCFM/90-100 psig compressor or via 1 through 4, 30 CFH, 3000 psig, oil free high air compressor(s). The system shall be able to interface with shipboard 5000 psig gaseous nitrogen/3000 psig gaseous oxygen piping system. The generator shall be interlocked to automatically supply the needed gas when the system pressure drops below 50 percent. The extent of any required modification to meet the above-mentioned capabilities shall be appropriately documented. NSWCCD-SSES will accept submissions only in writing. The submissions should be addressed to Miquel Bosch, Code 9212, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia, PA 19112-5083. (0261)
