Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433-7017 15 -- EMBEDDED GPS/INS (EGI) SOL n/a POC Jerry Richardson or Sue
Elliott, Technical Points, (937) 255-8423/Saundra Wieser, Contracting
Officer, (937) 255-4059 The Common Avionics Directorate of the
Subsystems Program Office is interested in determining industry
capabilities for potential new users for an Embedded Global Positioning
System/Inertial Navigation System (GPS/INS) in the years 1999 and
beyond. Prospective sources must have an NDI EGI system that meets the
requirements of SRD SME-EGI-92, Rev 4, dated 1 January 1997, with the
capability to incorporate the unique integration requirements of the
new aircraft and must have a DoD SECRET facility clearance. Integration
onto a specific aircraft typically requires less than 10% modification
(missionization) to the SRD compliant EGI for unique platform
requirements. Efforts associated with this tri-service program include
NDI EGI missionized integration units (6 months ARO), missionization
(modification) of software and hardware for platform-specific
interfaces, plus production effort, including missionized EGI units (12
months ARO), warranty, and contractor logistics support. All interested
sources must submit a statement of capability which describes your NDI
EGI system, your capability to missionize your NDI EGI to meet unique
aircraft requirements, your capability to produce and deliver
missionized integration units within 6 months and missionized
production units within 12 months of an order, and your capability to
support the EGI. Additionally, the SOC must contain your relevant
experience in these areas, as well as, what testing has been
accomplished on your NDI EGI system. Responses must include size status
in relation to SIC code 3812, size 750 people. All inputs must be
submitted to Ms Saundra Wieser at the address listed below not later
than 30 days following the date of this notice. An Ombudsman has been
established for this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is to
receive and communicate serious concerns relative to this effort. The
Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the Program Director or of
the Contracting Officer, but communicates the concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations of their sources to the appropriate
Government personnel. Potential offerors should use established
channels to request information, pose questions, and voice concerns
before resorting to use of the Ombudsman. When requested, the Ombudsman
will maintain strict confidentiality as to the identity of his/her
source of the concern. Serious concerns may be addressed to ASC's
Ombudsman, Mr Michael Coalson, ASC/SY, Bldg 52, 247 K Street, Suite 1,
