Michael Dodd, Code SEA02522, (703)602-7900 ext 568 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue solicitation N00024-98-R-5205 to Raytheon Company, Equipment Division, 529 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776-3375 for design agent, technical, and product improvement engineering services to support the AN/SPS-49(V) Radar production program. Technical Instructions will be issued under the anticipated contract to support installation, integration, testing, design, and refurbishment of the AN/SPS-49(V) program. Technical Instructions will also be issued for technical and logistic documentation, preparation of presentation material, performing studies and making recommendation on equipment upgrades and engineering effort. The anticipated contract will contain one base year and four (4) option year requirements. The solicitation will be issued to Raytheon pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). Raytheon is the sole manufacturer and design agent for the AN/SPS-49(V) radar, and as such, is the only known source with the in-depth experience and knowledge to perform AN/SPS-49(V) radar requirements.
