The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD is conducting a market survey of gloves for use in the handling of cryogenic liquids. The purpose of this survey is to ascertain the state-of-the-art in gloves for the safe handling of liquid oxygen, as well as to determine availability, order lead time, product capability and cost. This request is for informational purposes only. The product must meet the following specifications and characteristics: (1) thermal protection from temperatures as low as -300 degrees Fahrenheit (2) non-spark producing (3) will not hold or produce a static electric charge (4) nonabsorbent, especially concerning hydrocarbon fluids (5) pliable, so as not to hinder manual dexterity (6) cuffless (7) insulated for use in cold climates (8) coverage of the forearm. Please provide the following in your response: (1) a description of the product, including physical specifications (2) product capabilities (3) product cost and specific costs for any pertinent options (4) test results (5) history of the product, especially any previous military environments (6) lead time and ordering information. Furthermore, please indicate if your product is considered "commercial" as defined in FAR 2.101(a), and if your firm is a small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), or large business (SIC# 2381).
