The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health, has a requirement to design, develop and evaluate laboratory-based speech processor emulators and wearable speech processors for auditory prostheses. This is a competitive renewal of an ongoing project consisting of two contracts which are currently being performed by Research Triangle Institute, Contract No. N01-DC-5-2103 and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Contract No. N01-DC-6-2100. The resea rch will include human studies. It is anticipated that two(2) three-year term form, cost reimbursement contracts will be awarded for a three year period. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about October 10, 1997. Proposals will be due 60 days after the date of issuance of the solicitation.
