D -- ADPE HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE OF SYBOLICS EQUIPMENT POC Contract Specialist, Alice Kenny 703/706-2778, or Contracting Officer, Zenaida Castro 703/706-2763 The Department of the Army, Intelligence and Security Command, on behalf of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Washington, D.C. intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Symbolics Incorporated for maintenance of unique computer hardware and software written for the Government. The requirement is being acquired under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The intended source is Symbolics, Inc., 6206 Fushsimi Ct., PO Box 10862 Burke Virginia 22015. The Symbolics hardware is series XL1200 and 3560 workstations and utilizes 40 bit register architecture. The proprietary software is SYMBOLICS Genera Delivery System Software. This system constitutes a unique and specific computer environment with compatibility to the overall Army Artificial Intelligence community expert system. No solicitation document exists.
