Security improvements at the Jose de Diego Beekman Apartments, Bronx,
New York. The property consits of (38), five to six story apartments
buildings scattered throughout the neighorhood in the Mott Haven
section of the Bronx. Contractor shall furnish all labor, and materials
and equipment necessary to perform the proposed work. The current
renovation project includes, but it not limited to the following: (1)
Remove all existing building entry door, frames, transoms and
sidelights and provide new hollow metal doors, frames, transoms and
sidelights and all associated hardware, (2) Provide new steel fencing,
steel gates and masonry piers at each of the nine courtyards, (3)
Provide new electric door strikes and associated egress hardware at
each building and each courtyard. (4) Provide new intercom system and
proximity card reader and all associated hardware at each building, (5)
Provide new metal handrails at seven exterior locations, (6) Provide
new one-way and two-way call system at each building, (7) Provide
complete new CCTV system including cameras, mutiplexers, computers,
sequencers, wiring, etc. at each building, (8) Renovate existing satefy
office at 628 East 144th Street into new central monitoring
station/safety office with all new equipment and interior finishes, (9)
Provide new CCTV equipment rooms in basements or first floors of each
building. Estimated price range between $1,000,000.00 and
$5,000,000.00. There will be a non-refundable fee of $200.00 for a
complete set of plans and specifications. Request for the solicitation
package shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check
or money order made payable to Department of Housing and Urban
Development. The package will be available on October 8, 1997. Plans
and specification can also be seen at HUD New York Office in Room
35-120. A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:30 am, October 15, 1997
in the Community Room at Jose de Diego Beekman, Apartments (628 East
141st Street). Bids are due at 3:00pm local time, November 7, 1997
inRoom 35-120, 26 Federal Plaza, New York, New York 10278-0068. SIC
Code is 1796 and size standard is $7 million. All responsible sources
may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Agency. HUD posts all
