The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Newport has a requirement to establish a contractor managed Purchase and Recycling Program for lead acid replacement batteries. The program will be available for use by all authorized NUWC employees and must demonstrate a substantial savings in time, resources and cost over our current system or purchasing batteries. NUWC plans on awarding one "Preferred Contractor" Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to the company that can best meet our needs. The selected vendor will be chosen based on how well they demonstrate their capabilities, experience, and success running similar programs, and how well their proposed system meets our goals: a Just-In-Time (JIT) vendor for desktop ordering and delivery, preferably utilizing Electronic Commerce (World Wide Web)(www)(all ordering methods will be considered). A no questions asked return policy. A weekly delivery schedule. A listing or catalog of batteries available to purchase, including NUWC pricing. A full recycling/pick-up program for used batteries (to include copies of recycle certificate, if available). An electronic report transferred to certain NUWC control points on a weekly basis. Specific information for this requirement will be provided in a Request for Quote (RFQ). Requests for the RFQ must be submitted in writing, specifying the RFQ number.
