Offutt AFB, NE, intends to procure a set of four drums from the American Drum Manufacturing Company, Denver, CO, to include the following. The following equipment is considered to be one set of timpani drums, with accessories and cases provided for each drum in the set. Each drum is a Walter Light Mark XIV timpani drum. One drum each will be purchased in the following sizes: 24 inches, 26 inches, 29 inches, and 31 inches. A high duty case will be purchased for each drum, along with a caster system with tilting and leveling mechanism, an insert ring head, and an L-type counterhoop. This requirement is for the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, and it is a specific make and model requirement. Furthermore, this is a one time purchase of a particular instrument to meet mission requirements. A master tuning handle is located on the player's side, along with permanent locking casters that are mounted directly to the frame. The drum set and accessories will be awarded as a package on an all ornone basis. This equipment is considered proprietary to the American Drum Manufacturing Company, and therefore it is being acquired using other than full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interest, capability to respond, and specifications no later than 29 September 97. The determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements. Funds are not currently available but are anticipated at the end of this fiscal year. (0267)
