jeffredj@doe.nv.gov. SOURCES SOUGHT: The Tactical Demilitarization
Development (TaDD) Project effort is to develop a demilitarization
system for the static contained burn of excess Shillelagh missile
rocket motors. Procurement of a single base unit for use as a prototype
unit which will have demonstrated capability of processing the
Shillelagh rocket motors at a rate of 100/day and maintain air quality
effluent limits. Major components of the base unit will be a combusion
chamber for loading the rocket motors, gas holder for containing the
exhaust gas (temperature and pressure) from the rocket motors, and
filtration system for meeting air quality requirements. Options to the
base unit are automated loading system for the rocket motor to the
combustion chamber, air compressor skid, electric generator skid and
integrated PLC based control system. It is desirable for interested
vendors to have previous experience in production systems and systems
comparable to the above. Vendors should be willing to act as a prime
contractor for the system. Initial prototype system is estimated to be
required by July, 1998. An additional field demonstration unit may be
required (based upon results achieved from the prototype) and would be
required by September, 1999 or earlier. (0266) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0004 19970926\A-0004.SOL)
