Buebe, 301-981-2374 ESTIMATED ISSUE DATE: 15 OCTOBER 1997. ESTIMATED COST RANGE: Between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Project AJXF 93-4012 consists of providing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials and performing all work to replace kitchens in 68 military family housing units at Andrews AFB, Maryland. Work includes, but is not limited to: Replace all base and wall kitchen cabinets, countertops, sinks, faucets, remove existing asbestos containing floor tile and/or vinyl sheet goods, replace duplex outlets above countertop in kitchen and provide new ground fault protection; provide new garbage disposals, dishwashers, range hoods; relocate wall shelving in storage room; repair exterior walls of kitchen in split level units by replacing existing wood studs, furring or framing, and gypsum board; cut concrete slab at exterior wall and provide under floor water connection to sink in Type III kitchens only. Provide all necessary piping, electrical systems and all other necessary work. This project requires close coordination with the Government in order to meet complicated scheduling requirements. Total contract performance period is 255 calendar days. The proposed procurement is being issued as an unrestricted acquisition. For information purposes, the applicable Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 1522. This is a competitive best value source selection in which the offeror's performance history and price are considered equally important. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the low offeror.
