12 -- 12 -- LEASE OF A 75' AERIAL FIRE APPARATUS POC Point of Contact: Michael G. Loera 505-845-4302. Contracting Officer: Michael G. Loera 505-845-4302. The Department of Energy (DOE) Los Alamos Area Office (LAAO) is seeking sources interested in entering into a lease or purchase agreement for a 75' Aerial Apparatus (i.e., a 75' Ladder Fire Truck) to support the DOE Los Alamos National Laboratory and Los Alamos County, located in northern New Mexico. The DOE/LAAO 75' Aerial Apparatus existing vehicle requires repairs which will take approximately six-months to complete; thus, DOE/LAAO is interested in entering into a short-term lease agreement for a substitute unit. However, DOE/LAAO will take into consideration a long-term lease with option to purchase, or a purchase. The minimum requirements of the 75' Aerial Apparatus are as follows: Meets current National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) aerial safety standards; with the ladder raised to its maximum angle of elevation and fully extended, the vertical height measured by a plumb line from the top rung of the ladder to the ground shall be 75'; the horizontal reach from centerline of rotation shall be 67.8'; fuel tank shall have a usable draw of 50 gallons and shall be vented; fuel system shall conform to all applicable FHWA 393.65 and .67 standards; the vehicle shall have a 5-speed automatic transmission; 500 gallon water tank; pump shall be rated at 1,250 GPM; and, must use contain a tilt and telescopic steering column for various size operators.
