IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NOT AN RFP AVAILABLE AT
THIS TIME. REQUEST FOR AN RFP WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. The Peace
Corps is conducting market research for commercial outsourcing of its
Data Center. The Peace Corps is re-locating to a new office space
during the fall of 1998. As part of the relocation, the Peace Corps is
contemplating to outsource all of its existing mainframe processing.
In order to accomplish this effectively, efficiently, and economically
the Peace Corps is conducting a market survey of commercial and/or
Government Data Centers preferably within 30 miles of Washington, D.C.
The Information Services being requested include the following:
Processing Services; Processing Operations; Technical Support; Help
Desk Support for Peace Corps Technical staff; Security Administration
including Disaster Recovery; and Planning and Development. Of
particular interest at this juncture is our need for commercial market
information including a rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimate.
Other information desired includes general product information,
potential suppliers, customer service, support, and logistics
capabilities of the offeror, customary warranties, delivery schedules,
standard commercial practices for buyer requested modifications to the
equipment, general pricing, applicable discounts, payment terms,
billing practices, customary commercial clauses and terms with
contracts, etc. Based upon the information received, if in the best
interest of the government, the government may issue a RFP to solicit
proposals from commercial vendors for the purpose of contract award or
enter into an interagency agreement with another Government agency.
The Peace Corps will not pay for responses to this sources sought. ALL
INFORMATION INCLUDING ROM COST ESTIMATE SHOULD BE MAILED TO: SUNIL
XAVIER, PEACE CORPS, OFFICE OF CONTRACTS, 1990 K ST., N.W., ROOM 6368,
WASHINGTON, D.C. 20526. DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF INFORMATION IS OCTOBER
10, 1997 AT 3:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME. A draft statement of work is
available in hard copy and electronic format (Microsoft Word for
Windows 6.0.) For a copy, please e-mail a request to
sxavier@peacecorps.gov or fax it to Sunil Xavier at (202) 606-3009. A
Pre-Solicitation Conference will be convened to discuss the draft
statement of work promptly at 9:30 a.m. eastern standard time on
Tuesday, October 14, 1997 at the Peace Corps, 1990 K St., N.W., Room
7401 C, Washington, D.C. 20526. Following the Pre-Solicitation
Conference, attendees may visit the existing data center. All sources
may modify their ROM by October 17, 1997, 3:00 p.m. local time, if they
wish. All questions prior to the Pre-Solicitation Conference should be
