(719)333 -2570 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial
items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This
announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This is a notice of
intent for solicitation number F0561198Q0120 and is issued as a Request
for Quotation (RFQ). This acquisition is approved for sole source
acquisition as authorized by AFFAR 5313.106 under simplified
acquisition procedures. No written RFQ package will be issued. All
interested sources may identify their service by submitting pricing
data, and an accurate description of the service offered. Only
responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no
favorable responses are received by close of business on the
anticipated closing date, a purchase order will be awarded to Ameritech
Library Systems, 400 Dynix Dr., Provo, UT 84604-5650. The solicitation
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-1. The Standard Industrial
Classification number is 7375 and the business size standard is $18
million. The non-personal service required below consists of
maintenance for the existing Dynix Automated Library System software
and ancillary hardware at the USAF Academy during the period of 3 Oct
97, or date of award 30 Sep 98. CLIN 0001 Dynix system maintenance,
Quantity 1 Job, Unit Price $ __ __ __ __ __ per month, extended price
for 12 months $__ __ __ ___. The system which requires maintenance

+ for Windows; One (1) PAC+ED, Electronic Dictionary for PAC. The
contractor shall provide all personnel, tools, equipment, and material
(including parts), supervision, travel and related items necessary to
perform the above maintenance service. Maintenance services shall be
accomplished by qualified technicians for the software/hardware
maintenance of the Dynix Automated Library System. This service also
includes all upgrades and telephone support as required to include
instructions for installations and configuration. Software maintenance
shall include software that supports DOS and Windows, for both onsite
modem and telnet (internet) connections. All Information Technology
(IT) items must be year 2000 compliant. Non-compliant items must be
upgraded at no additional cost and be Y2K compliant by delivery date or
the earliest date when compliance is required to process Y2K data, but
not later than 31 Dec 99. Y2K compliant means IT accurately processes
date/time data (including but not limited to, calculating, comparing
and sequencing) from, into and between the twentieth AD and
twenty-first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000 and leap year
calculation. Y2K compliant IT when used in conjunction with or
exchanging data with other IT, shall accurately process date/IT
information. The following FAR provisions and clauses apply to this RFQ
and are incorporated by reference: Provisions at 52.212-1,"Instructions
to Offerors Commercial Items. Vendors are STRONGLY encouraged to use
the Standard Form 1449 as the first page of their quote and completely
provide the requested data for all blocks. If you chose NOT to use the
SF 1449, you are cautioned to complete and provide with your written
quote all the data requested by FAR 52.212-1. Failure to do so, may
render your quote as non-responsive and may eliminate you from
consideration for award. Offerors shall include a complete copy of the
provision 52.212-3,Offeror Representations and
Certifications-Commercial Items with its quote. The FAR clause
52.212-4,Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items applies to this
acquisition. The FAR clause 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions
Required to Implement Statutes and Executive Orders-Commercial Items
applies to this acquisition. Additional FAR clauses cited in this
clause that are applicable to this acquisition are (b) 6, 7, 8, 9, 10,
