COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 29,1997 PSA#1940U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, Procurement Department (PD),
1200 K Street, Suite 1090, NW, Washington, DC 20005-4026 R -- APPEALS ANALYSIS SERVICES INCREASE POC Point of Contact --
Contact Tova Stein, 202/326-4160 ext. 3234, Contracting Officer, Robert
W. Herting 202/326-4160 E-MAIL: U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.,
Washinton, D.C., 62174800@eln.attmail.com. The Pension Benefit Guaranty
Corporation (PBGC) intends to increase the maximum number of hours
available for appeals analysis services under a current labor hour
contract. Additional hours are requested primarily to complete analyses
on unusually complex appeals recently filed with the PBGC's Appeals
Board. These requested services are a continuation of work currently
being performed by the contractor. In view of the vendor's experience
with appeals analyses, its knowledge of PBGC programs and its
familiarity with PBGC electronic and filing systems, it is in the
agency's best interest for the current vendor to complete the appeal
analyses. The contractor will be required to complete the requested
analyses within the period of performance and schedule of the contract.
The proposed contract increase is for services for which the Government
intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the
authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent to award a contract
modification is not a request for proposals. See Note 22 (AC0925059-57)
