INDUSTRY CONFERENCE ON N/UWSS HQ NORAD-USSPACECOM/J5F will host an industry conference on 22 Oct 97 at the HQ AFSPC Aud, Bldg 1, PAFB CO from 0800-1700. The purpose of the conference is to provide industry with an update on the status of the NORAD/USSPACECOM Warfighting Support System (N/UWSS) Planning initiative and to solicit industry feedback and improvement recommendations on the N/UWSS Master Evolution Plan. The conference is open to all interested contractors and participation is on a voluntary basis. The conference will be held at the UNCLASSIFIED level and there is no fee. N/UWSS is a evolutionary acquisition "system of systems" program which will integrate all NORAD and USSPACECOM Battle Management/Command and Control (BM/C2) systems together within a common architectural framework and operating environment. The scope of N/UWSS includes the migration of selected legacy systems, integration of related on-going developmental programs, and development of new programs to support future mission areas (e.g. space control, information operations). Phase One of the program is focused on the CINC's fixed and endurable C2 nodes (Cheyenne Mountain Complex and the Mobile Consolidated Command Center) and interfaces to all associated systems. Implementation of phase one is scheduled to begin in FY00. The N/UWSS Planning Division has developed an initial draft of the N/UWSS Master Evolution Plan which ties together key requirements documents, operational concepts, architectures (operational, systems, and technical), and acquisition strategy concepts. The Master Evolution Plan will be evloved over time through the efforts of the N/UWSS Planning Division, and through inputs from key government stakeholders and industry. Ultimately, the plan will be turned over to industry for implementation. Therefore, industry inputs are essential to ensuring the plan is executable and the program is successful!
