on the AEROMOD Modeling System to Region IV State and Local Agencies.
Contractor shall assist in the development and presentation of a
training course on the use of the AERMOD Modeling system to modelers in
the Region 4 state and local environmental agencies. The training
course shall cover both the theoretical background and technical basis
for the AERMOD and its related programs. The Contractor shall develop
35 course notebooks complete with course notes, deskettes of the
modeling system and the exercises, and detailed information regarding
model formulation and user instructions (i.e. training materials). The
training materials shall be available upon commencement of the course.
At a minimum, the exercises shall address all of the processors of the
AERMOD modeling systems. Diskettes of the AERMET trainer and any other
tutorials for the AERMOD system shall be provided to the students. The
AERMET trainer shall be updated to incorporate improvements in the
model and provide moreflexibility to examine the sensitivity of the
meteorological parameter inputs. A graphical user interface shall be
developed for AERMET to help facilitate instructions concerning the
processor. The course shall be taaught on the days agreed upon by
Region 4 and the Contractor, February 24-27, 1998. The course shall
start on the afternoon of February 24 and end the morning of February
27. The training facilities and computer will be provided for the
course by EPA Region 4 at no charge. The Contractor shall provide a
work plan addressing the development of the training course, materials
and costs. The work plan shall include an outline of the training
course. A maximum of two Contractors may be used for teaching this
course. The Contractor employees shall be qualified and instrumental in
the development of AERMOD. The Contractor shall have prior experience
in teaching this subject matter. The Contractor shall provide an
evaluation form to be filled out be each student. The form shall assess
the Contractor's preparedness, presentation, and understanding of the
subject matter. It should also assess the student's perception of the
course, usefulness, understanding and whether or not the course
