The Federal Bureau of Prisons seeks to award a contract for the construction of a 12 foot high control fence and demolition of an existing 6 foot high control fence at the Beckley Federal Correctional Institution located in Beaver, West Virginia, in accordance with the contract documents, drawings, and specifications. The successful bidding Contractor shall be required to attend regularly scheduled progress meetings, and in addition, prepare all required submittals, shop drawings, and updates for the Federal Bureau of Prisons approval, prior to approval of progress payments. The project magnitude is within the estimated range of $100,000 to $250,000. The estimated issue date of the Invitation for Bid is October 10, 1997, with a Bid-Opening date of November 13, 1997. A Pre-Bid Meeting/Site Visit is scheduled for October 24, 1997, at 10:30 am, and all perspective bidders are encouraged to attend this meeting, since this meeting will be the only site visit for this project. This project is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business concerns. The project completion time is 150 calendar days. Requests for solicitation packages shall be submitted in writing to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Mid-Atlantic Regional Contracting Office, 3600 Spurr Road, Quarters 14, Lexington, Kentucky 40511, Attn: Michael S. Kinsel, Regional Contract Specialist. A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $20.00 is required for each solicitation package request. All deposits shall be made payable to the United States Treasury, and sent to the Contracting Officer listed above. This fee is for administrative and reproduction costs for the issuance of the solicitation package.
