Provide all supervision, material and labor necessary to perform dockside repairs to NOAA Ship WHITING, to be performed at the Atlantic Marine Center in Norfolk, Virginia. Performance period to commence approximately November 24, 1997, (no work to be performed on ship or the AMC during November 27 -- 30, 1997, and December 25 -- 27, 1997) and shall be completed within 46 calendar days thereafter. The requirement consists of basic contract items such as: Steel Repairs; Main engine & Generators Exhaust Repairs; HVAC System Repairs, Boat Davit Repairs; Saltwater Flushing System Valves Overhaul; Steam Piping Repairs and others. In addition there will be one option item: Electric Motors Inspections. Vessel will be available for inspection on October 24 and 25, 1997, in Savannah, Georgia. Characteristics of NOAA Ship WHITING: Length Overall -- 163 feet; Beam (Moulded) -- 33 feet; Draft (maximum) -- 12 feet; Displacement -- 907 tons; Propulsion -- Diesel, twin screw; Crew size -- 23.
