COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 30,1997 PSA#1941NETWORKING SESSION In a continuing effort to enhance General Services
Administration (GSA) procurement oportunities for small, small
disadvantaged, and women-owned small businesses, the Office of
Enterprise Development (OED), in conjunction with the Federal
Telecommunications Service, FEDCAF, will be conducting a networking
session under the Solicitation Number TFF-97-014, for the management,
operation, and maintenance of desktop computing and its associated
network ifrastructure for Federal agencies throughout the contiguous
United States. These services include the entire suite of hardware,
COT's software, connectivity, and support services required to support
desktop computing. The successful offeror must be capable of providing
the following functions: asset and infrastucture management,
installation, maintenance, end usersupport, training, and design. The
government desires to acquire these services as utility and intends to
pay on a "per seat" basis. Multiple awards and various subcontracting
opportunites are anticipated under the acquisition. The networking
session will allow potential prime contractors, large, small, small
disadvantaged, and women-owned small businesses the opportunity to come
together and exchange business interest with the hope of establishing
relationships under the Seat Mangement acquisition. Seat Management is
anticipated to be a multibillion dollar procurement. To provide
maximum opportunity for small businesses to participate and receive
award consideration for the acquisition, the Standard Industrial
Classification code for the procurement is 4813. To ensure that the
potential prime contractors and the interested large and small business
representatives have effective communications for establishing
partnerships, teaming arrangements or subcontracting agreements, only
the first 100 firms to register will be allowed to participate in this
networking session. The networking session is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
to 12:00 p.m., October 7, 1997, at: Westin City Center Hotel, 1400 M
Street, NW, Washington, DC 20005 (202) 429-1700. All businesses wishing
to participate in the networking session should register via Internet
