dmorrison@d11.uscg.mil. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY.
This announcement is not a request for proposal and does not commit the
government to award a contract. The U. S. Coast Guard Maintenance &
Logistics Command Pacific is requesting technical information on
commercially available Digital Selective Calling (DSC) systems.
Information being sought applies to a VHF-FM channel 70 system capable
of receiving, transmitting, displaying, and automatic acknowledgment
of VHF-FM DSC information at a Radio Communications Center (RCC). The
system must meet all standards of the International Maritime
Organization (IMO) and Global Maritime Distress and Safety System
(GMDSS) standards on VHF DSC for distress and maritime safety
broadcasts. Physical radio locations would be existing remote Alaska
mountain top communication sites. Items of importance include the
ability of the system to link to the remote radio locations through
existing microwave and telephone circuits, low power consumption using
DC power, and high system reliability. Access to most radio site
locations is by helicopter, weather permitting. Interested firms should
submit responses that address product capabilities, reliability and
maintainability performance data, general pricing and delivery
information, applicable discounts, payment terms, warranty, billing
practices and customary commercial contract clauses, terms and
conditions. Please indicate if your firm is a small, small
disadvantaged, 8(a), or large business. (SIC 3663) Send responses to
