C -- GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM, REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR BLOCK II/IIA SUSTAINMENT SOL F04701-R-97-0018 DUE 103197 POC Contact Point: Contracting Officer: Ms Cathy Purnell (310) 363-2941 The NAVSTAR GPS JPO intends to issue a RFP for a new contract for follow-on technical and management support for Air Force Space Command for on-orbit operations of GPS Block II/IIA space vehicles, constellation reliability data gathering and modeling, support and maintenance of the GPS Mission Operations Support Center (MOSC), sustainment and upgrade of the Block II/IIA Telecommunications Simulator (TSM), and launch processing of the last Block IIA satellite. No spare parts will be procured under this effort. The RFP will be issued on 10 Oct 97. The initial period of performance will cover calendar year 1998 with four one year options. The Government intends to award the contract on a sole source basis. The proposed contractor is Boeing North American (BNA), Incorporated, Space Systems Division, 2600 Westminster Blvd., P.O. Box 3644, Seal Beach, CA 90740-7644. Boeing recently acquired Rockwell International who has built and maintained the GPS mission to date. BNA is the incumbent Contractor that is currently providing all required support for the Block II/IIA program through Contract F04701-83-C-0031. Note 22. (0269)
