NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the fabrication of honeycomb decks which will be used on the primary structure of the Microwave Anisotropy Probe (MAP) spacecraft. The design and analysis of the decks has been performed by GSFC. Information about the MAP mission can be found at http://map.gsfc.nasa.gov. The contractor shall be responsible for management of this effort to assure that they will meet the delivery schedule as stated in the Statement of Work (SOW) (which will be available when the RFQ is issued), obtain raw materials, and provide the facilities and labor to fabricate two decks as specified in GSFC drawings 2003111 and 2003121 (available when RFQ is issued). Any deviation from the approved drawings shall require written approval from GSFC. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). See Numbered Note 26. The anticipated release date of RFQ 752-00001/920 is on or about 10/07/97 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about 10/15/97. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in ASCII or RTF format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
