520-538-0413 (Site Code DABT63) This is for information only and will
not result in a Solicitation/ Contract. The Communications-Electronics
Command (CECOM) Research, Development and Engineering Directorate
(RDEC) Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) Fort
Huachuca based IEW Technology Assessment Center (IEW TAC) and Team
Huachuca are sponsoring the quarterly IEW Technology Conference and C2
Protect Topical Review 4-5 Nov 97 at Ft Huachuca. This conference will
be the first of a joint effort between Team Huachuca and the IEW TAC.
The structure and content of this conference will be unchanged from
previous conferences except that Team Huachuca will bring the combined
assets of Ft Huachuca to the conference providing a larger information
and capabilities base. This is an information sharing event that is
open to all government, academic and defense contractors that have an
interest in the U.S. Army's Information and Intelligence processes. The
symposium will begin on Tuesday morning followed by an impressive
technicalprogram beginning with discussions of the user community's
requirements in the area of information security and C2 Protect. The
user requirements discussions will be followed by technical briefings,
discussions and demonstrations by government, academia and industry
members of the research and development community. The theme of this
unclassified topical review is the protection of sensitive information.
The rapid advancement of technology and the Army's movement to a
digital force has made this issue all the more important. Significant
advances in technology have been made in the traditional information or
communications security fields but enormous challenges remain for
everyone in the Information and Intelligence arena. Recent conferences
and the Intelligence Center and Signal Center home-on-home at Ft
Gordon this summer frequently addressed these issues and high-lighted
the need for requirement definition as well as material solutions to
these needs. These issues are further emphasized in the Lessons Learned
from the recent Task Force XXI brigade exercise. Additional issues,
needs and hopefully potential solutions are expected to emerge from the
Division XXI SIMEX. This conference will offer a forum for feedback on
the user's needs, new missions and operational concepts as well as
approaches to meeting these challenges from both a technical and
acquistion perspective. If you are interested in participating in the
Conference, please contact Don Cairns at (520) 533-2320/2318 or Email
at iewtac@www.isec-sig.army.mil. Call for players. The Team Huachuca
and the IEW TAC are requesting unclassified papers, topics and displays
