842-6763 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in
Atlanta, Georgia, requires Preventive Maintenance and Emergency Repair
services on various Perkin Elmer/Applied Biosystems equipment in the
following product groups: DNA Analysis, Synthesis and PCR, Protein
Analysis, and LCMS. The equipment is located at CDC locations in
Atlanta, GA and Fort Collins, CO. In addition to maintenance, Reagents
and miscellaneous supplies applicable to these products are required
on an indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) basis. The period
of performance is for one year beginning November 1, 1997, with 4
option periods. Essential requirements include: (1) diagnosis and
repair of equipment breakdowns; (2) technicians certified by Perkin
Elmer/Applied Biosystems for repair/maintenance within 24 hours
(desired) and 72 hours (required); (3) provide software and hardware
upgrades applicable to the equipment within 30 days of release; (4)
supply Reagents necessary to operate the products that will maintain
the integrity of warranties and maintenance agreements; (5) provide an
unconditional warranty of equipment repairs and maintenance for a
period of 90 days following service. This solicitation will be issued
in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The
anticipated release date of the solicitation is October 6, 1997 with a
closing date of October 20, 1997. Interested parties may request a
