Sutton, Contracting Officer, MD-33, (919)541-3046 The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement to provide quality ARC/INFO and ARCView GIS software training. The Landscape Ecology Branch (LEB), specializing in land cover change assessment, must use GIS for data storage, management, manipulation, processing, analysis, and modeling. The classes shall be 5 days in length, except Advance ARC/INFO may be combined with software extension courses for a 10 day course. The number of participants for the ARC/INFO-Database Design class shall not be limited. For all other software based, hands-on-training (Introduction to ARC/INFO,etc.)class size will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants per class. It shall be in the nature of a lecture, with question and answer periods and include hands-on exercises to reinforce lecture material. Exercises shall not be graded and participants shall not be tested. The GIS software which the agency has invested a great deal of resources is the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ARCINFO and ARCview. Geographic information systems are software specific therefore it is necessary for LEB to be trained specific to the existing system, ESRI ARC/INFO and ARCView. This RFQ will be carried out under the Simplified Purchase Procedures. The period of performance is from December 1997 to September 1998. All interested parties must submit a written request for the RFQ within 15 days to to the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, Attn: Starry M. Jones, Contracts Management Division, MD-33, 79 T. W.
