A -- NIAID MALARIA RESEARCH AND REFERENCE REAGENT REPOSITORY SOL NIH-NIAID-DMID-98-17 DUE 012398 POC Judith Rubinstein, Contract Specialist, (301) 496-2509; E-MAIL: jr205j@nih.gov The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has a requirement to operate and maintain the Malaria Research and Reference Reagent Repository (Malaria Reagent Repository). The Malaria Reagent Repository will provide a versatile resource to the international malaria research community by acquiring malaria-related reagents, producing standardized reference reagents and protocols, and providing these reagents to qualified investigators through the world. The Malaria Reagent Repository will also collect information about malaria-related reagents and standards and disseminate this information through print, World Wide Web, and workshops. Additionally, the Malaria Reagent Repository will enhance technology transfer through development and publication of methods, facilitation of commercial development of reagents through proactive communication with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and participation as a Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization. It is anticipatedthat one (1) contract will be awarded for a period of seven (7) years, beginning approximately September 27, 1998.
