E -- MODIFICATION AND RESTRUCTURE OF AN EXISTING EXHIBIT SOL NHLBI-PS-98-185 DUE 102197 POC Deborah Coulter, Purchasing Agent, (301) 435-0368, Fax number (301) 480-3345 The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to negotiate on a noncompetitive basis with Exhibits Unlimited, Inc. (EUI), 4306 Wheeler Ave. Alexandria, VA. 22304, to perform modifications and restructure an existing exhibit at the National Iinstitute of Health. The modifications and restructure must be completed installed by October 30, 1997, and must include the following: 1. Four (4) new museum quality frames and six mats; 2. Photos mounted to .040 aluminum, cover with matte laminate with wr apped edges. Installed on substrate. Mounted on exhibit panels with Velcro; 3. Eight (8) Graphic panels, Digital printouts mounted to 1/4" black gator board or Sintra, mounted on exhibit panels with Velcro; 4. Eighty-seven (87) Text Panels, Silkscreened text and applied graphics (3D letters) on various substrates of acrylic, painted wood, or metal laminated constructions; 5. Thirteen (13) Special mounts, Provide artifact mounts; 6. One (1) Laminated base, (1) entrance curtain-one rod with a hemmed curta in and (8) wall jacks; 7. One (1) wall case painted satin black with a virtrine; 8. One (1) Pedestal, laminated in standard texture black, with a table top, three vertical panel mounted to the top and four vitrines with interior base; 9. Provide eleven (11) bases, laminated in standard texture black, with faux marble slant tops, Velcro to the wall; 10. One case covered in a standard textured laminate with a 2' diameter x 4'-11" h vitrine, interior acrylic pedestal, interior strobe light, three short radiati ng wing walls, and three top mounted rods; 11. Provide three 8'H x 16'W x 9'D, covered in standard texture black laminate, with three 8'H x 2'W x 6"D end walls; 12. Provide one pedestal, covered in standard texture black laminate, with a table top, vertical panel mounted to the tablel, and integral vitrine with interior base; 13. Reglue 8 split vitrine joints of existing units; 14. Installation of all newly constructed and refurbished components shall be completed by October 31, 1997. The Standard Industri al Classification (SIC) Code 7389, Size Standard $5.0m is applicable to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement.
