Marie D. Kliment, mkliment@ems.jsc.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC plans to issue a
Request for Quote (RFQ) for approximately 100 exhibits booths and
related accessories for the NASA Johnson Space Center Inspection Day to
be held on November 12-14, 1997, at the Johnson Space Center, Houston,
Texas. Set up will be required from November 3-7, 1997, with any other
requirements that might occur on Monday, November 10, 1997; therefore,
it is expected that firms outside the local area would have difficulty
meeting the quick turn-around requirements which can occur daily.
Take-down will be required on Saturday, November 15, 1997, until
completed. The approximately 100 booths are located in 20 different
buildings onsite and two buildings offsite. Some areas require
additional pipe, drape, carpet, draped tables, tack boards, folding
chairs, waste paper baskets, some large blue garbage cans and easels
besides the estimated 100 booths. The colors for the drape must be
royal blue and white and the tables draped in royal blue to match. The
registration area will require 36 ft. of lighted counter space with
tables and chairs to the rear plus red carpet up to the counters from
the door entrance. A royal blue carpeted and skirted stage 10 x 20 with
royal blue pipe and drape behind the stage. Red carpet is required for
one of the offsite buildings which is Hanger 990 at Ellington. Various
buildings onsite having concrete floors will require royal blue
carpeted pathways to the exhibits. Additional information may be
obtained by contacting the Technical Monitor for this procurement,
Glenda Lancon at (281) 483-0282. It is also anticipated that final
requirements may continue to change up to the actual time of the final
setup of displays/booths and will, therefore, require contant
coordination between the Technical Monitor and the proposed vendor.
This would involve several onsite visits by the vendor
representative/coordinator. This procurement is being conducted under
the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to
acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12.The anticipated release
date of RFQ 9-BJ23-18-08-01Q is on or about October 6, 1997, with an
anticipated quote due date of on or about October 20, 1997. All
qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be
considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See
Internet Note "B". Prospective offerors shall notify this office of
their intent to submit an offer. It is the offeror's responsibility to
monitor this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments
(if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their
own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Hard copies may
be obtained from the identified point of contact, however, the closing
date for the hard copy received shall be the same as the solicitation,
inclusive of any amendments, released on the Internet. Any referenced
