snynopsis/solicition for commercial items/services prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemted with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitues the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and A
SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solciitation number
603-85-97 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular #90-46. This solicitation is
unrestricted and the applicable Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 3826.
Name Brand or Equal is required -- items must be compatible with
existing equipment. Items are as follows: #1. VG9005 -- Opengene System
I; includes Microgene Blaster Automated DNA Sequencer, Gel Toaster
Photo-polymerization Unit plus Fill Fixture & Surefill Gun, GeneObjects
Framework including Basecalling, Fragment Analysis & Assay Manager. #2.
VG20020 -- HP Vectra Computer Workstation with the workstation
configured with GeneObjects DNA analysis software and NeXT operating
system (user licence included for software) #3. VG41050 -- MICROCEL
CASSETTES 1 pkg of 50; #4. VG40006 -- 6% SUREFILL CARTRIDGE -- Premix
of 6% acrylamide and photoinitiator; #5. US79610 -- Thermo Sequenase
Core Sequencing Kit, containing optimized reagents for sequencing with
the OpenGene System, and contains Thermo Sequenase DNA Polymerase,
enzyme dilution buffer, reaction buffer, termination mixes, M13 control
DNA & formamide loading dye. #6. VG70001 -- System includes extended
service, training of two individuals, a 60 day evaluation period by
using service, operators service manuals (2 ea), and FOB destination
delivery. Delivery is required within 45 days after award of contract.
The VA Medical Center, Louisville, Kentucky, is procuring the
equipment for use at and delivery to the Brown Cancer Center, 529 S
Jackson, Louisville, KY., 40292. The following Provisions and Clauses
applyplus any addenda: FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial
Items; 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial
Items; 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items;
52.212-5 Contract Terms & Conditions to Implement Statutes Or Executive
Orders-Commercial Items. Any additional contract requirement (s), or
terms and conditions (such as warranty requirements) determined by the
Contracting Officer to be necessary for this acquisition and
consistent with customary commercial practices will apply. Offers are
